Formed in early 2007, the company members are all local people who have a Learning Disability and also an interest in drama. As part of the development of opportunities for people in Bury an original project was set up with DayWalker Productions which enabled the company members to take an active role in a short play, "The Victoria" which was included in the 2007 Bury Fringe Festival.
The play was a great success and it left the company members wanting to do more public performances. Through discussions with DayWalker the pantomime idea was formed and the group has worked hard, along with other actors and professionals, to bring the production to the stage.
With help and assistance from DayWalker the LDG Theatre Company will continue to develop and establish a name for itself within the Bury St Edmunds area. It is hoped that there will be future projects working alongside professionals, which will result in more performances.
This performance brings us back to a regular and increasingly popular fringe venue, the Constitutional Club in Guildhall Street, Bury St Edmunds, where we transform the function suite into an 80 seat theatre.
The Constitutional Club welcomes new members. Facilities include three full size snooker tables, pool and darts, a fully air-conditioned function suite and heated outdoor smoking area.
